On October 26, 5 hours online NSRA conference was held on the topic: «The Arctic zone of the Russian Federation:development of shipbuilding, infrastructure, science and international cooperation.»
NSRA partners and representatives of 6 regions of the Russian Arctic, 5 Arctic Council countries and France discussed topical issues of shipbuilding, aviation, Arctic cruise tourism, science and international cooperation.
Within the framework of the Russian Federation's chairmanship in the Arctic Council from 2021 to 2023, NSRA continues to work on a joint strategy for the development of the Northern Sea Route together with our good Arctic neighbors from the USA, Norway, Sweden, Canada, as well as France, which has observer status in the Arctic Council.
And it won't work any other way. It was absolutely right words to be said by Finnish President Sauli Niinisto at a recent meeting: "If we lose the Arctic, we will lose the whole world."
Russia is becoming not just an Arctic country. Russia is becoming an Arctic superpower. The whole world understands this. The report of Semyon Korkin, Head of the Department of Sea and River Transport of the Ministry of Transport of the Government of the Republic of Sakha-Yakutia on the construction of a new Zhatayiskiy shipyard became a real decoration of the conference.
500 organizations and companies in Russia work for the Arctic and Antarctica. 85 doctoral and 404 candidate scientific essays have been released in the last 3 years alone. Doesn't this mean that the Arctic and the NSR Association have a great future?
The participants of the conference did not just make only presentations. Our meetings are always consisting of discussions and trying to find the right solutions.
Within 3 minutes, with bated breath, the participants of the NSRA conference enthusiastically watched a video clip where brave and skillful pilots of the Naryan-Mar Joint Aviation Detachment, a partner of NSRA, conducted exercises of a sanitary flight and evacuation of a sick Covid crew member from an oil tanker following the NSR .
By the way, it is the development of energy projects and infrastructure in the Russian Arctic that will be the main topic of our next online conference on November 9, 2021. See you at our conference. Participants will receive the access code and the program until November 7, 2021.
